Wine is forever the greatest seduction tool, the classic aphrodisiac, the romantic beverage of choice. What makes it so alluring? And how does wine fit in with sex and desire?
There are several phases of any sexual encounter, though sex shouldn’t be the canned, three-part act that never varies. Sexual encounters have so many flavors: exciting, anticipatory, flirty/playful, soft/gentle, rough and fierce, hungry, languorous, boring, monotonous, dreamy, transcendent, electric. The list could just keep going.
Wine is the same way. There is a wine for every mood, every phase, every type of encounter. The care it takes to make a good wine is just astonishing. It’s an incredible process that takes skill, time, patience and love.
Good sex requires those things too.
The magical quality of wine and the care it takes to create a good wine makes it the ultimate romantic beverage. Sharing a bottle of wine with a lover is an appealing thing to do for many. Exploring what makes good wine is what draws so many lovers to the Napa Valley.
Wine country is the ultimate getaway and second most visited place in all of California. (No one can compete with the mouse.) It is an adult destination where couples come to reconnect, enjoy each other, bask in the sunshine and beautiful surroundings, and of course, enjoy the wine and world-class cuisine.
I came here because I fell in love with wine country. And I do really love good wine. When I arrived, I realized that what Napa was missing, was something sexy that would compliment the romantic environment that is already par and parcel for this place.
Who better to make Napa a little bit sexier? I decided it was time to leave New York, as much as I love the big apple. And I knew that there was somewhere else where I’d be able to find new outlets and opportunities for the work I love. Little did I realize before I landed in Napa that this was the place where it would all come together.
What’s a better match than wine and sex? They beat peanut butter and jelly any old day. I’m not advocating getting rip-roaring drunk or even tipsy before sex, or in order to have sex. I’m saying that if you are someone who can drink moderately and enjoy a glass of wine, it can be a lovely part of your sexual seduction and experience.
I’m determined to get to the bottom of the wine-sex connection. I’m going to be interviewing renowned sommeliers here in Napa Valley and Sonoma about wines and how they fit with the many phases of the sexual encounter. I look forward to sharing their expert opinions with you as we uncover the magic that can happen when one sexual empowerment coach partners with winemakers and wine country venues to create fun, sexy good times for the people.
I hope you will join me.
